Pretty Pink Posies

Living in a house full of men and boys, I just haven't accumulated a lot of pink, and most of what I have is confined to my guestroom. When we built our house almost eight years ago, we didn't know it would become our home. We built it as a spec house, but when we sold the home we were living in, we decided to move in "temporarily," since this house was almost completed.

Trying to appeal to home buyers with daughters, I had used feminine colors in one of the bedrooms. It's still my "girly" room, even though it served as Brent's room when he was home from college.

One of the pictures hanging in the room is this watercolor of pink roses sitting on an open Bible. It was given to me by my aunt when she sold her home to move in with my mother and dad. I had always admired the painting, but I didn't learn until then that it was painted by Mema, my paternal grandmother, pictured to the left.

That just makes it more special and more reason to hang this touch of pink in my "girly" room.

Be sure to see who else is "in the pink" by visiting Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.

Kathy, what a beautiful painting and how special to have been painted by your Grandmother. I know what you mean about not having much pink. I raised 3 boys so not much chance for pink or frilly...lol...
Thanks for visiting my blog, I sure do remember tying a string to bubble bees. Also remember making fire fly jewelry, wish we still had a lot of fireflies, but we don't see many anymore. Also loved to listen to the Whipper Will at night, and loved it being quit enough to hear the chrickets chrip....

Hi, Kathy - what a pretty painting. How special to have such a heritage and memory from your aunt. I love the photo of your grandmother, too.

The soaps you liked in my post are actually made in the US - San Diego, I think. Follow the link inh my post and you can find retailers.

I love your watercolor! I have two men in my house, but also one girl. I still have a hard time using pink but I do tend to mix it in with other colors, usually sage green.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Yes I know all about raising 3 boys. No pink indeed, but that's why the bedroom is mine! Hope to see you next week. Es

What a gorgeous painting Kathy! I raised two boys so didn't have much pink in my home. Now that I'm by myself I've decided to go pink! The font used on my blog topper is Carpenter. It is one that has to be purchased. I bought it to use in my digi scrap products design. I make my blog toppers in Photo Shop. ♥
