It's here--our first significant snowfall in years.
We probably won't need the snow tires, since the temperature is just under freezing, and the roads are still too warm for much accumulation.
Our church has cancelled all activities for today, and the television stations are broadcasting non-stop snow reports. We had heavy wet snow earlier this morning followed by about an hour break with lighter snow. They are calling for the snow to pick up even heavier shortly with warnings of accumulations on bridges and overpasses. The good news is that we have power.

So we're having typical Alabama weather for this time of year. Tornados on Friday, snow on Sunday, and 72 degrees by the end of this week. Look out Atlanta; it's headed your way.
Will my daffodils recover?
There's nothing prettier than a wet snow that blankets trees and shrubbery.
Snowing Harder
Here's a late afternoon update. The sun came out after lunch, the temperature warmed to the mid-40's, most of the snow melted, and the daffodils are perking up. It was pretty while it lasted.

oh! that looks beautiful! and it is headed our way!!! i am so excited!!!!!
Wow, amazing! Hope the daffodils recover! We've got your 72 today, I think.
It was definitely Daffodil and Snow Tire Festival in Fayetteville this weekend. Your pictures are great - mine not so. I just couldn't make myself venture out in the 18 degrees to get better ones. The daffodils and forsythia should recover, but the saucer magnolias are down and out. Fayetteville, by the way, still looks like a war zone.
Believe it or not, I have very little experience with blogging and leaving comments.
I love your blog!!! It brings back so many memories of your boys.
Thanks, Lisa. Glad you're still reading. Let's try to get together the next time I'm in Little Rock.
I was wondering the same thing about my daffodils today! :-) Susan
I would LOVE that!!!
