Kid Stuff

I've always enjoyed seeing children's art displayed in the homes I've visited, and today I'd like to share a couple of watercolors that hang in my home.

From the time he was just a little fellow, our youngest son Ben loved to draw. He drew super heroes and Easter bunnies, battleships and spring flowers. He even did a reproduction of Vincent VanGogh's "Starry Night." When he was six we gave him art lessons. At the time, I thought he might be an artist or an architect when he grew up. Well, he's grown up now with a career in public relations, but I still proudly display two of his paintings.

One of my favorites is this Razorback, especially since I'm a huge fan.

I love the colors in this painting of spring iris.

Dear Kathy - I am so sorry, but I am having serious issues with Mister B tonight, but I think I worked them all out. Unfortunately, it wiped out everybody's names. Please, please hop back over and add your permalink again. My apologies, friend! I will be back...

Kathy,

Your son's framed artwork is just so precious! I especially love seeing the his tiny "Benjamin" signed on each painting! (Perhaps b/c I too have a Benjamin?!!!)

Not sure about Ben yet (he's only 2), but Mary seems to be the budding artist in our family. Isn't funny how we have certain hopes or expectations of what our children will "grow up to do" and yet they usually choose their own path! Never to disapppoint thought...as long as they are happy.

Blessings to you from Kansas!

Kid's art is the best!

I agree- those are fantastic! I also proudly display my kids artwork in my home because I think their art is the best. They are so uninhibited. Seems the older we get, the more we doubt our artistic abilities and the less artistic we become. Thanks for sharing these great paintings! :)

How wonderful that you have these framed and displayed. Your son really is talented. I even like the razorback (sorry, Longhorn fan here, don't banish me lol) Kathy

They are both great!!! I can see why you have them framed & hanging in your house. I would too!!!

Is Ben still painting? It seems like he has talent in that area. BTW, you're so right in your comment on Heart Choices. The matting and framing cost more than the botanical prints. LOL

Aunt Kathy,

As a side note every time I try type Aunt Kathy it comes out Aunty Kath. Now onto my point...I did not know Benji was such a budding artist. If things in PR don't work out (which is HIGHLY unlikely) at least he has his art to fall back on.

Just spent some time catching up on your posts. The pictures from Ireland- breathtaking, the arrangement for your church- amazing, your twist on dance- original. Sadly we have only seen AR play one time this season.
