Naming Rights

An Arkansas mother of six, soon to be seven, is selling the naming rights to her soon-to-be-born son on eBay.

ebay Lavonne Drummond says that she is strapped for cash and hopes to buy a car for her growing family with the proceeds from the auction.  As of this writing, the high bid is $2,600.00, with 70 bids received.  The auction has another 3+ days to run.

Although Lavonne describes herself as "a single mother of 6 soon to be 7 kids" in the item description on eBay, THIS ARTICLE on FoxNews.com says that her husband Richard is stationed in Virginia with the Navy.  You can follow the online auction by going HERE.  And if you want to place a bid, shipping is free.

Kathy-You come up with the most interesting news items! I wonder what the return policy is?

If I could get somebody to give me thousands of dollars, I would let them change my name, too!

The last time this happened, a radio station "bought" the name and they had to name their child after the morning drive's co-hosts.....both of them!

Holy Cow! That is a lot of money. I wonder if she is obligated to choose the name of the highest bidder, no matter what they come up with! :o) I am not sure I would want to risk that one! :o)
Hoping your weekend is a lovely one!

Shipping is FREE? Are they delivering the baby by stork? This article beggars belief, really - she's certainly an enterprising lady. I dread to think what name the little one could be saddled with. Wasn't one of Frank Zappa's kids called Moon Unit? And Bob Geldorf has Peaches, Fifi Trixiebell (sounds like a poodle) and Tigerlily.

Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for visiting me. Can't wait to hear how you got on with only an hour and 15 minutes to get ready...
