An Arkansas mother of six, soon to be seven, is selling the naming rights to her soon-to-be-born son on eBay.
Lavonne Drummond says that she is strapped for cash and hopes to buy a car for her growing family with the proceeds from the auction. As of this writing, the high bid is $2,600.00, with 70 bids received. The auction has another 3+ days to run.
Although Lavonne describes herself as "a single mother of 6 soon to be 7 kids" in the item description on eBay, THIS ARTICLE on FoxNews.com says that her husband Richard is stationed in Virginia with the Navy. The last time this happened, a radio station "bought" the name and they had to name their child after the morning drive's co-hosts.....both of them!

Holy Cow! That is a lot of money. I wonder if she is obligated to choose the name of the highest bidder, no matter what they come up with! :o) I am not sure I would want to risk that one! :o)

Shipping is FREE? Are they delivering the baby by stork? This article beggars belief, really - she's certainly an enterprising lady. I dread to think what name the little one could be saddled with. Wasn't one of Frank Zappa's kids called Moon Unit? And Bob Geldorf has Peaches, Fifi Trixiebell (sounds like a poodle) and Tigerlily.
