Having just returned from a long weekend in Destin where we celebrated my brother’s 60th birthday, I decided to mark my first participation in Outdoor Wednesday with some beach pictures. When you’re through visiting here, be sure to head over to A Southern Daydreamer where Susan hosts this weekly event.
Friday morning after a leisurely breakfast and several cups of coffee, I headed to the beach wearing my favorite flip flops. In fact, these are the only flip flops I own. I just have a hard time getting used to that thingy between my toes, but sometimes a girl has to sacrifice in the name of team spirit.
Friday night we celebrated Tommy’s birthday with a delicious dinner on the deck at Beachwalk. The night was perfect, and the sunset was gorgeous. I didn’t even have to leave my chair to make this picture.
Although the Gulf on Friday was brown with debris from the flooding rivers up north, by Saturday the beautiful blue color had returned, a perfect compliment to the always sugar white sands.
Unfortunately work and the real world beckoned, so it was back to reality by Sunday evening. It was fun while it lasted.

Destin is one of my favorites! I am so jealous of your trip....maybe someday soon I'll get to the beach! Thanks for sharing your lovely pictures and have a great day!
Oh - - - - I'm ooooo-ing and ahhhhhh-in over that pinkish picture taken over the fence. Delightful.
OH - - - WHERE did you get the Go Hogs flips????? I LOVE that idea - - - what fun tracks to leave.
If you WEAR the flip flops more often, working up to longer times, the thing between your toes will stop bothering you. I have to "readjust" my toes each spring when I put the flops on again.
Glad ya'll had such a fun trip! The beach pictures are beautiful. laurie
Nice pictures, it's look so relaxing.
i agree, the flips you'll get used to! i used to hate them, drove me nuts and i'd take them right off. but i now love them! however, my physical therapist has officially banned them. :(

It is hard to get used to the thing between the toes.
I just love the beach...especially when I'm not in the ocean. :) Girl you will get used to the flip flops and never want to go back again.

Great outdoor pics! I love the picture of the water and white sand. Happy Wednesday!
Oh how beautiful. There is nothing like the shore -- no matter where it is!

Greetings from Arkansas! My husband wants your flip flops. I had to learn to call the Hogs before he married me! Love the pics. Looks like a great time.
What a great post, makes me want to grab a towel and head for the beach myself.
Nice sand art, too!
Catch a wave for me,
Candy
Beach time! Can hardly wait - will be near Destin in about a month. Love, love, love the beach. I don't understand how I could have been born in a landlocked state!
What a beautiful place. How amazing to live near all of that!

Well, you already know I dream of living in a condo in Destin. Year round would be fine with me! At least we spent our vacations there while we lived in Florida and Texas. Vermont is not so handy.
On the scroll thing...it is a tough one because of all the questions I have had over my online selling career. Plus, I read so many blogs now.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Ok...love those Go Hogs flip flops...where did you get them??? I don't think I'll find them in Michigan...sigh, but my mama might in Hot Springs?!
It's in the 50's here and raining, so your photos make me want to hop a plane, like now! Great shots.
Sooo sorry about your broken china. I've had that happen before when I bought from ebay. Speaking of tea...my kettle is calling me!
It's 5 o'clock somewhere..we know what Margie and Alan are doing right now..sipping on a fine margarita,
with the tunes playing and the sun shining...Wasn't that fun? Hope we all get invited back next summer..
great pictures, Kbeau..susie
These photos are gorgeous!! My favorite place in the world is Gulf Shores!!! We are going sometime this summer. I have had my calendar out trying to figure out when to go and where to stay! I can't wait!!! I would live there if I could!
Lou Cinda :)
those gulf beaches are the BEST!!! now, i'm even more excited about our imminent vacation - even though it is to the outer banks! :)
Sorry I am late getting around to visit... I hope you had a Happy Outdoor Wednesday....and that you will participate again soon! Thanks for sharing your photos.~ Susan
