These colorful Easter eggs, with their pretty pink toppers are just for Ben, who celebrates his 27th birthday today.
On Easter Sunday, April 11, 1982, Hunter and Brent got us up early, anxious to see what the Easter Bunny had brought. The Easter Bunny had made an early visit to our house, so the boys hunted eggs in the back yard, and we were dressed in time to make it to early church, a good thing as you will see.
Back home, I had just gotten Easter dinner on the table when my water broke. Nothing to eat for me. We were off to the hospital to see what else the Easter Bunny would be bringing. Ben finally arrived a little after 9 p.m. LBeau was right there with me, and then suddenly he wasn’t. Always a little squeamish at the sight of blood, LBeau was on the floor.
Here is Ben in my grandmother’s cradle with his two proud older brothers ready to rock him to sleep.
As a child he loved to dress up like a wrestler. Encouraged by Hunter, he and Brent would spend hours practicing their take downs and holds on the bed in Hunter’s room, eventually breaking the slats. LBeau said that he was just like a little terrorist and nicknamed him Benjadam Bossain.
Ben was always accident prone. In kindergarten he fell off the jungle gym on the playground and messed up his face so badly that his teacher didn’t even recognize him when she picked him up off the ground.
He did grow up, however, and we are so proud of him. In November he married Claire in Little Rock, and they have given us our first grand dog, Jeff. Last year he was named by Arkansas Business as one of their Top 40 Under 40. Click the link to read all about him. Just last month Arkansas Business honored him again by naming him one of 25 for the Future.
So Happy Birthday to my “baby.” I think this picture says it all.

Ah.. sweet post.. Happy Birthday Ben!
Oh, such fun stories all, but the Benjadam Bossain is the funniest of all, especially with that picture!!!
LOL, you sure got a cute Easter present from the Bunny. Happy Birthday Ben....
Hi Kathy!
Thanks for dropping by...and yes, I did create the background and header for my new blog look! It wasn't nearly as challenging this 2nd time around and I am much more pleased with the result. Although not from a "professional" blog kit like last time, I sort of like the "homemade" feel to the new layout.
Did I know you have a Benjamin...I think maybe I did. What I didn't know was that he was born on Easter Sunday...what a blessing! Such a sweet story and little man.
Of course, I had to click on your links and read all about your precious boy and the successful and handsome young man he has grown up to be! You certainly deserve to be one proud mama!
Blessings to you this Holy Saturday,
Valerie
great post, love the black and blue face picture...I have one of my daughter with a fat lip...funny how those pics turn into the best memories.
happy pink, heidi
Oh, what a sweet tribute to your son. He sounds like a great young man. The black eye gave me pause, I tell you, but it sounds like he is a lucky survivor!
Have a great weekend and a fine Pink Saturday
♥A lovely and purr-fect Pink Saturday blog post. During this most holy time of the year I am wishing you rainbows, gracious days, dewdrop nights and the love of friends and family to comfort you and hold you close.♥
PS: Same thing happened to my son, Dave, on the playground only he was with my father! My dad didn't want to bring that little boy home with a black eye...but, of course, he did. You sure took me back in time with this entry. Dave hurt himself on the playground 35 years ago!
Aaah, you old soppy! Bless!
That was such a great story!! It gives me hope that Jameson will actually make it to adulthood! LOL!
Happy Birthday Ben!

Happy Birthday Benjapanties! (always my favorite nickname for him).
Kathy, my parenting days of two boys consisted of "take downs, holds and pinning." Wrestlemania was the word in my household, and my husband was just as bad with the rough housing while I would cringe. Your Ben reminds me so much of my fair haired Travis. What a great post. Happy Birthday to Benjamin.
What a sweet tribute to your son. I loved the pictures and OUCH on the one where he got hurt...boys!...Thank you for sharing.
