The Birthday Girl

April is a big month for birthdays in our family, and today is Susie's big day. Big indeed. This is one of those birthdays that end in a zero. In other words, it's a biggie.

Susie and my brother Tommy started dating when they were seniors at the University of Arkansas. At the time Susie was dating someone else, and when it became obvious that she and Tommy were serious, he drove her to Dallas to break up with her other boyfriend. We're certainly glad he did.

Susie is one of the most talented people I know. All you have to do is take one look at her home, and you'll know it too. Some of you may recall the tour of her home that Laurie did on Bargain Hunting With Laurie. You can visit her home by clicking this link.

Laurie was so right when she called Susie "Party in a Box." Susie is the queen of parties. I really don't know how she does it. Just look at this cute table arrangement she created using fresh flowers and paint cans for the party for Ben and Claire. The bride and groom centerpiece are her creation as well.

I always enjoy the day after Thanksgiving because I get to go shopping with Susie. She has a real knack for spotting the best stuff, and she knows just what to do with it. I just wish we lived closer together so we could shop more often.

For years Susie wouldn't do email. My brother once offered me $100 if I would teach her how. I could have done it too, but there was never an opportunity. Fortunately, she found herself on a committee for a Pi Phi reunion, I think, and the only means of communication was through email. So now maybe she'll start that blog that I've been after her to do.

Happy Birthday, Susie.

April seems to be a great month for family birthdays! Happy Birthday to your SIL -- Hope you get to be with her soon. I'm so happy that both of my SIL's are in town -- my two sister's are the ones who live far away.

Loved the pink truck too!

Hi...thanks for following my blog. Anytime is a great time to visit London in my opinion however...late October/November will be colder and keep in mind it gets dark here early at that time of the year. If you especially enjoy museums, etc. then no worries. If you love to tour gardens then that isn't the best month to come. There's always something to see and do any time of year...do you set your own itinerary or are the activities planned for you? I've had houseguests pretty much every month of the year during our stay here and we always manage to have fun and see alot. If I can answer any questions just send them my way. : )

Cheers, Joyce

Kathy: You are so blessed to have such a great relationship with your sister in law! You are both extremely lucky. I followed your advice and moved the placement of my Followers button on my blog! Thank you so much for the suggestion!
