I’ve already shown you a couple of master bathrooms that Connie and I updated, so this week I want to show you a kitchen. Charlene’s kitchen was one of the first remodels that we took down to the bare walls. Here are a few before pictures. You can’t help but notice the white cabinets, white countertops, white tile and white appliances. It positively glares at you.
Everything that you see went away except for the furniture in the breakfast nook. As you’ll see in the after pictures, even the window disappeared to make room for more cabinetry.
The new cabinets are an off white with a chocolate glaze and bronze hardware. We added recessed lighting in the ceiling, accent lighting above the cabinets, under-cabinet lights to illuminate the work area and three pendants over the peninsula.
We chose St. Cecelia granite to compliment the cabinet color and used an antique style art glass for the display cabinets.
We even had enough room to add a narrow island for additional work and storage space.
Charlene chose stainless steel appliances, and the decorative vent hood houses a power module and has a stainless steel liner to make for easy clean up.
A local artist painted the bowl of fruit on the front of the vent hood cabinet. The decorative grape molding and the corbels on the island are from Enkeboll Designs.
Now that you’ve toured Charlene’s kitchen, head on over to Susan’s place at Between Naps on the Porch for some more fantastic makeovers.

Whoa, I need you here and now!!! Great job on this kitchen. I need to do something soon- I glazed my cabinets as a temporary fix- now they are not so dark and oppressive.
Wow, it looks beautiful.
This is my favourite of all your kitchens. Looks great.
Hi Kathy !
Love this kitchen, the color is so warm ! I love the narrow island...I keep going back and forth in my kitchen- if I should do this...We remodeled our kitchen but, still have the floor to do...one day I will post pictures !
I bet the owners just loved this remodel as it is completely lovely !
Hugs ! Kammy
p.s. I will post more info on my blog on my new camera and pics as I figure it out.....Thanks for the visit !
I am in shock with the change - so warm, classy, elegant, inviting. Wow! We had our dark stained cabinets professionally painted and glazed a few years ago and I am glad to see that look is still in style. We love it! Linda

Wow what an amazing change! Thanks for stopping by - the girls are such fun - you've got one who'll be right behind them - such joys!
Just stunning! I love the vent, it adds so much character! Cindy
Wow, what a difference! I'm in awe at your skills.
It's also interesting that what really makes the room so welcoming are the textures and surfaces and treatments. Though I'm sure the new cabinets are great, if a person were on a budget, the basic bones of the room could benefit from the decorative touches you brought.
Brava!! Wonderful job.
Kathy, that's amazing! What a difference! I love the cabinets!
The kitchen looks stunning! I especially like the color of the kitchen cabinets. They are so warm and make the kitchen look so inviting! I would want to cook in there or eat!
Kathy, this is absolutley amazing! Beautiful! What a huge difference. The kitchen now evokes a mood, a charater, style and class! LOVE IT!
That's one gorgeous looking kitchen.
The colours all came together beautifully.

Just gorgeous! The white kitchen could almost be mine except for my red walls! Once the MBR remodel is done, it's all holes barred for the kitchen:) Off to the beach late next week - can hardly wait.
