It’s Monday and time to show the world our best transformations of the week. Metamorphosis Monday is hosted by the always busy Susan at Between Naps on the Porch, so head on over to see this week’s changes.
This week I decided it was way beyond time to take a break from blogging, reading and work to clean out my refrigerator. In fact, I am ashamed to admit that I can’t even remember the last I cleaned it out. It’s been so long that I had forgotten some of its features.
For example, I had never noticed that printed on each shelf is the word “Spillproof.” Frankly, I don’t know how GE can claim this feature. If these shelves are so spill proof, then why do I end up with the bottom of my refrigerator looking like this?
I had also forgotten that the shelves rolled out. So I ended up with stuff like this hiding way in the back. Don’t worry, that’s not mold growing on the cream cheese. It’s Dr. Pete’s Praline Mustard Glaze. If you’ve never served Dr. Pete’s Praline Mustard Glaze over cream cheese with Wheat Thins, you need to give it a try. It makes a great appetizer, which probably qualifies this for a Foodie Friday post. Too bad I’ll be traveling and can’t link it.
I also discovered another feature about my fridge. When I got down on my hands and knees to clean out the bottom, I found this dial, which lets you control the humidity of the bottom drawer. Too bad I didn’t know about this sooner. Maybe my cranberries left over from Christmas wouldn’t be looking like this. Somehow I didn’t think I could pass those off for Craisins in my next salad, so I had to pitch them.
It took me a good half a day to get my refrigerator spic and span, but when I was through it looked like this.
When LBeau got home from work he made me toss a few more things that we didn’t really need, but I insisted on keeping the orange marmalade that I served with my Tea for Three. Now maybe I’ll have the energy to tackle the freezer next week.

BTW does everyone know you are supposed to change the filter on water in door, every 6 months? Those buggers cost about $45.00

I hate this chore too, especially the spills you don't realize have happened until you really get in there. You always feel better when it's been done though! Have a great night.

No monkey business there...looks great. I'm not sure the last time mine got a cleanin' but it is definitely time.
I spent all morning mowing at MIL. Little rock work too. I cant' go outside without a little of that--that's why I'm RockCandy!
Have fun on your little trip,
Candy
I know I don't want my husband to see this clean fridge! He's always saying "we" need to get in there and clean out the fridge! I know when I last cleaned ours. After our ice storm, when our power was off for 10 days! (See, it takes a lot of pressure for me to get it done). laurie
This is the wonderful thing about blogging....you get to find out that your not the only one with gunk in the bottom of your fridge!!
They need to make them to self clean like a dish washer....
