Addicted

words003 Hello, my name is Kathy, and I'm addicted to Words With Friends.

Looking back, my obsession probably started last fall when I upgraded my mobile phone to an iPhone.  I had been wanting one for a while, but I needed to wait until my contract expired so that I wouldn't have to pay full price.  At the same time I was a little hesitant, not knowing what kind of learning curve I would be facing.  I must say that I love the phone.

At first, I only downloaded a few apps—the Weather Channel, ESPN ScoreCenter, Facebook.  I was determined to resist loading it up with a bunch of stuff.

Then my hairdresser told me about Words With Friends.  I've always loved board games, so I thought it sounded like fun.  It's just like Scrabble, and you can play with anyone else who had the app on their phone.  If you don't mind ads, which are easy to skip, you can even get it free.

When I first downloaded Words With Friends, I didn't know anyone else to play with, so I let the app create a game for me with a random opponent.  Then I told my sister about it, and I also showed it to my friend Pam.

Little Sis and I play at least one game a day.  Sometimes I beat her, and sometimes she beats me.  We've even been known to play while sitting in the same room, and I'm sure our SIL Susie got tired of our games on our recent trip to Destin.

Recently, my son and daughter-in-law discovered Words With Friends, and just a few days ago I received challenges from my nephew and his wife.  As I write this, I have five games going on.  Whew!!  It's a wonder I get any work done, but I keep telling myself that it's good for my brain.

Hello, my name is Marty and I am addicted to techy gadgets. Now look what you have done - you've encouraged me to upgrade to a new one. The (good?) news is that my contract does not expire for several months, but I bet my next phone is an iPhone.

I don't even know how to text! My husband is getting one of those next week (when our contract expires!). Does this mean I may never see him again!

Hi Kathy! I love to play Scrabble so I am sure I will like this. I am waiting for my contract to end too so I can get an i phone in 2 months. Can't wait, especially now that you told me about this app. We bought my granddaughter when the latest one came out and she loves it except now we have to keep buying her apps, lol.....Christine

I don't like the phone but I love e-mail. I enjoyed your post. I love your AR Bloggers button. Is it one to share? Mines not pretty. Doylene

Kathy, I bet that is fun, so I'm going to stay as far away from it as I can! I sure don't need another hobby that keeps me sitting in a chair all of the time. I'm afraid all of this blogging and blog visiting is leading to a bigger back side than I already had!
Yes, I found those Razorback glasses 5 or 6 years ago at a flea market. They come out of the cabinet whenever the Razorbacks are playing. Pig Sooooieeee, Razorbacks! laurie

Hello Kathy!!!!

Long time no speak...or in our case write!

It's so funny that you dropped by for a visit b/c I was recently thinking about you! I was scrolling thru my list of blogs I follow and saw your blog. It was then that I realized that I hadn't been around to visit in a very long time. And you my friend have been such an inspiration when it comes to changing/updating/my blog format!

Anyway, hope that all is well. It certainly sounds like you are enjoying that new phone and all its' apps! Me...I still have one of those phones where if you want to text you have to hit 111, 444, 222, etc. LOL

Blessings,
Val
