What you are seeing is the thermostat for the main level of my house. As you see, it's reading 51 degrees. Sometime on Saturday the motor on my furnace fan went out, so we didn't have heat the rest of the weekend because the part was not available until today.
Fortunately, we did have heat on the second floor, so we could camp out there and stand in front of the fireplace when we had to be downstairs. Also on the plus side, I was in Destin until yesterday afternoon with my sister and sister-in-law, leaving LBeau to brave the cold.
Although it was cold and windy on the beach, we were toasty inside. Besides, you can't beat the sight of the sun setting over the ocean at any time of the year.

Beautiful sunset, Kathy. Lucky for you to be in Destin. I love Destin! We just got home from Tama last night and it was cold there too but not as cold as here. Our pool slide water froze and it is running water, lol. The bottom is the biggest icycle that I have ever seen...Christine
I just love the beach. I have heard allot of good things about Destin! Beautiful photo.
I think you should blame the builder, and hold her feet to the fire to make her fix the fan for you. ;-)
Yikes! That's cold! You could sing "Baby It's Cold Outside & Inside too"!!!!
Destin....oh my gosh.....!!!!
You lucky girl!!!!!
I hope you are all warm now. I love your blog. I live in Russellville. Doylene
You are so right about the sunset and hope things are heating up around there. Happy Anniversary too!
Thanks for popping over this morning.
Warm WEDNESDAY Blessings ;-)
Oh, Kathy, I have been here too long. Le sigh! Destin! So many wonderful memories. And, from my snowy window seat in Vermont, I know my Florida son has probably spent his last Christmas with us in this house because his life is way below the Mason Dixon line. We were so lucky to have him on his college break for a couple of weeks this year. Thankfully, we have a place to stay in New Orleans for next year, but as I read about your Christmas, I know we will have to travel, and that there are extended families for him in his and our future. How fortunate we are to have memories and the best are from our time in Florida. I always love to visit and "walk" down the beach.
stunning photo!!!
Kathy, that photo of Destin is grogeous! Makes me so jealous. I know y'all had a wonderful time. Glad you got your heat back on! laurie
