The Sound of Silence

Brent, Katie, Walker and Lauren headed home to Savannah this morning.  The house is certainly quiet, and I’m at a loss for something to do.  I just can’t seem to make myself pick up the blocks and cars…

or put away the peanut butter and vanilla wafers…

or put the “tupperwares” back in the cabinet.  Sigh.

The good news is that they will be back in 2 1/2 weeks.  It’s so nice to have them closer.

I live over 300 miles from mine, and seldom get to see them. Hard to bear. Glad you're seeing yours again soon!

Enjoy the rest and recharge your battery to go again in a couple weeks. What a fun time and age, enjoy every single minute.
Life is simple, new, and everything is an adventure.

You asked about my pics...I must reveal my story. I am a magazine freak. Keep them for years. Look through them every couple of months...d r e a m i n g. My house is full of interesting things and stuffed with stuff. I serves us lives, we do not serve it. But I do like to see pretty things. But when the rubber meets the road I want a house a child or grandchild can feel comfort and love...not fear.

Enjoy your quite time,
Candy

I don't know why I stay and read my comment after it is too late to correct. Silly me!!!
I was just going to let you decipher best you could but not I must rewrite that one sentence.

'It serves our lives, we do not serve it.'

Now if that isn't right, please forgive. I am going to run and not look back ;-)

My little one lives an hr's drive from me and when she goes home, I miss her terribly and the house seems so lonely. So I know how you feel.

Now, I'll just bet that orange car has been around a looooong time. If I'm not mistaken, that;s the General Lee from that good ole TV show...The Dukes of Hazard. Good ole Bo Duke and Luke Duke. It's probably a collector's item by now!

I'd just gather it all together and put it in a big basket till they get back again.

So glad they will be back soon. Even with ours as close as Fayetteville, I can't go very long without seeing them. It's such a treat when I get them to myself for several days at a time. And, like you, when they are gone the house is WAY too quiet and orderly.

The worse thing about having family visit is right after they leave. Loneliness starts sinking in. I am glad they are coming back, it's always something to look forward to. AJ is visiting us for 2 weeks right now too. We're all happy but I know it will be sad when it's time for her to go back home....Christine

Hmmmm...did Walker leave the General Lee car out, or was it Uncle Hunter??? What a cutie!

I got stuck on the peanut butter and vanilla wafers : ) That sounds like a good combo!

I'm glad you have your family living a bit closer...sounds like you'll get alot more time with them.

btw-we have deer too (I made a mental note of your verbena)...I haven't quite figured out the interaction of everyone yet. The little bitty fox seems to rule right now. Of course we haven't seen a bear yet...things may change for him once we do : )

Kathy: I am so glad they are closer and I know you love it! You could just "follow" them back to Savannah!!

2 1/2 weeks will be here before you know it! I pray mine stay at least within driving distance.

Lou Cinda :)
